Responsible for updating and maintaining reference data to meet Insights product needs.  This includes identifying all healthcare and analytics related reference data source/sets, acquiring data through purchasing, downloading, scraping of all prioritized sources in the inventory, staging all acquired data sets in a data lake setting to enable ad hoc querying and conducting ad-hoc analyses using Inovalon’s priority data assets. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Identifies healthcare and analytics related reference data sources/sets
  • Stages acquired data sets in a data lake setting
  • Updates and maintain reference data to meet Insights product needs
  • Performs data trends and ad-hoc analysis by writing SQL queries on AWS platform/Snowflake
  • Communicates with Product Management regarding research findings, presenting reports in written or verbal format, and providing recommendations for action based on findings 
  • Collaborates with Engineering team to ensure research findings are translated to action items (features) in engineering tracking system
  • Recommends improvements to existing processes and procedures based on data analysis findings
  • Other duties as requested and/or determined
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience with enterprise data management, reference data management, and healthcare claims data experience
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write SQL queries required
  • Enterprise reference data management experience preferred
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to evaluate processes and drive improvement
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams, including, but not limited to, Engineering, Sales, Customer Support, Customer Delivery
  • Experience working in a complex, fast paced organization
  • Experience working with Snowflake, RedShift or AWS preferred

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration in a related area of healthcare, data or business
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time)
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions
  • Travel for this position will include 5% as needed for job duties
