Description:

The Marketing Content Developer will be responsible for curating and creating content (writing & editing) for a broad range of media platforms including our website, our blog, both online and offline advertising campaigns, as well as direct oversight of all social media platforms. The ideal candidate must be able to use insights and data to understand the target audience and create the right type of content that can satisfy their intent within different stages of their financial journey.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directly impact all stages of the marketing funnel and member journey with engaging copywriting to increase adoption and utilization of credit union products and services.
  • Ensure content strategy is in alignment with overall marketing campaign strategies, as well as organizational goals and directives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our editorial authority to maintain and expand upon our brand voice and tone consistently across all platforms.
  • Produce copy that stretches wide and deep across our platforms – everything from our website to advertising to blog articles to thank you letters.
  • Creates brand voice style guides for all new, refreshed, or redesigned products.
  • Obsessively ensures every word published is edited and proofed for grammatical accuracy.
  • Showcase the Credit Union’s strong connection to its communities through its sponsorships, partnerships, and volunteer efforts utilizing a multi-channel approach.
  • Work in concert with cross-functional teams to clearly articulate editorial authority, brand tone, and areas of communication improvement.
  • Utilize website and various media and social media tools and analytics to educate and inform the Marketing team of performance, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern.
  • Manage all currently used social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to deliver frequent, relevant content tied to organizational goals.
  • Write, coordinate and upload stories, videos, and pictures to platforms and social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Become a product expert in credit union’s current and future product offerings.
  • React to feedback and revision with flexibility, optimism, and diplomacy.
  • Monitor and respond to reviews, messages, and comments across our online communities to ensure respectful and appropriate engagement and protection of our online reputation.
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects, under quick deadlines and be able to respond quickly and accurately to change.
  • Maintain position as a subject matter expert on social media platforms, including emerging platforms not yet adopted by the Credit Union; educate and advise on appropriate entry points into new platforms.
  • Work in tandem with the Visual Design Specialist to locate high-quality sources of imagery, photographs, and visualizations for use in formatting assets.
  • Read and follow news in the financial services industry for linking opportunities.
  • Maintains an awareness of all industry laws, regulations, developments, and trends that may affect marketing communications programs and the member experience.
  • Coordinates with external vendors as needed to achieve desired expectation

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represents the Marketing Department and Credit Union through involvement in various organizations, committees, and teams.
  • Be available for evening and/or weekend work hours on an as-needed basis.
  • Completes ad hoc requests and assignments as needed.
  • Projects a professional image consistent with that of the Credit Union.
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Andrews Federal policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the financial services industry.
  • Ensures that the confidentiality of all information and transactions regarding the Credit Union, its members, and its employees is held to the highest level of business ethics.

Desired Attributes:

  • Knowledge of branding communication and tone of voice preferred.
  • Strong appreciation for visual and verbal communication, and can tell brand stories that inspire, educate, and persuade consumers.
  • Ability to translate verbal ideas and written communication into effective marketing materials and be results-oriented.
  • Power user experience with Social Media Management platforms (SproutSocial, Hootsuite, Sendible, etc).
  • Power user experience with Google Trends, Google Keyword Tool and Search Console, and Grammarly.
  • Use Google Analytics and SEO tools to track and improve content performance.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree (or higher). An emphasis in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing is preferred.
  • 5+ years of content development, copywriting and social media experience in a corporate marketing or advertising agency environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the English language and the ability to write content that is free of spelling and grammar mistakes.
  • Extensive Microsoft Office suite (Word - create and edit documents / Excel - create and edit spreadsheets / PowerPoint create and edit presentations / Outlook - create and edit emails) experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player, and the ability to influence through conversation.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, create and improve processes.
  • Presentation, web conference production, and meeting facilitation expertise.
  • Strong ability to learn technology and keep up with ever changing advances and capabilities.
